February 22, 2022 – A horror classic returns brand new. The Betrayal at The House on the Hill 3rd Edition announced. The deep strategic board game wing of Hasbro / Wizards of Coast is publisher Avalon Hill, who made the announcement with a spooky teaser trailer on their twitter and virtually no information on the upcoming project.
The original Betrayal at House on the Hill originally came out 2004. It was a big hit and even today holds onto a spot on the list of the best horror board games. The “second edition” came out in 2010, but it was basically a “updated reprint” because they didn’t really change anything. This new, Betrayal at House on the Hill third edition looks to be something that has a lot of new things going on.
The differences between Betrayal at House on the Hill second edition and third edition appear to have a lot to do with the overall look and style. This is pretty apparent in the teaser video and with the fact that it has been ten years since the last version of this iconic title has come out. In addition to the look, the changes will most likely affect the different missions since the variety and fantastic storytelling was always a marquee highlight of the title. This is all speculation though, nothing is known publically and it will be interesting to see when this will come out and how it will look/feel.

Avalon Hill was started in 1954 when Charles S. Roberts started “The Avalon Game Company”. The name was influenced by the city he sold his first game out of Avalon, Maryland. The name was later changed to Avalon Hill after the sell of the game “Tactics”. Hasbro acquired the storied company in 1998
