This is a very niche specialty trivia game, but if you happen to be in that niche, it could be something that you might absolutely love.

Fun (8 out of 10)
For the fun section of the Boom Again review, we award a great 8 out of 10. This is a trivia game and it is very much about the 50s, 60s and 70s. If you are in your 40s or above, and you like this type of game, then you really should check this out.
This is for a very niche audience and that is absolutely ok, in fact it is one of the strengths of the game. This hits that well, so no need to worry about that. The thing to think about is where does this sit in the overall eschalon of trivia games. They try to add different dimensionality in how to ask questions, but it is nothing special. So while this should absolutely satisfy its target audience, it is nothing ground breaking.
Replayability (6 out of 10)
For the replayability section of the Boom Again review, we award a good 6 out of 10. There are a good depth of questions which is why this gets an above average score.
Thinking about trivia players in general, this gets an above average score because it isn’t just going to test your trivia knowelde, it is going to invoke fond memories from your past and make for some great conversation amongst friends.
Player Interaction (5 out of 10)
For the player interaction section of the Boom Again review, we award a middle of the road 5 out of 10. Besides the trivia, the main mechanism is that it is team vs team and you are trying to play tug of war in different categories to win.
It is enough to give you some kind of interesting angle, but at the end of the day, it really isn’t going to shift your play or matter. One person answers a question, if they know it, great, if not, you guys are probably in trouble. It is interesting, but just fine. There really isn’t much player interaction to speak of but for this game, everything is ok.
Quality (6 out of 10)
For the quality section of the Boom Again review, we award a very good 6 out of 10. It is just a trivia game, questions and answers. It tries to add other components to make it more of an interesting board game experience, but none of it matters. The above average points come for the variety of questions that you are not going to get in any other game.
Components are also very solid. The box feels like it could survive almost anything and the cards have a great weight and finish. Again, it is great at the question and answer portion of what it is, it just tries to give the illusion that there is much more to the game, with trinkets and place cards that track some progress, but it could have existed with out all of that.
Art & Style (6 out of 10)
For the art & style section of the Boom Again review, we award a solid 6 out of 10. There really isn’t too many opportunities for art and style but they do a good job with the space they are given. This is all about touching on the nostalgia of an older generation and it does a good job of expressing that.
The game uses lots of licensed materials but they put their money to good use. Every element fills every container well and does a good job to make this one feel like it is unique and not just some generic trivia game, which it kind of is.

Boom Again is a trivia game that is for an incredibly niche audience, people who like the category and lived during the 50s, 60s and 70s. If you are in that category, then you should definitely check this one out. The questions do not just test your knowledge, they will be wonderful reminders of the past and caveats for great conversation. They try to add bells and whistles that fall flat, but the core questions and answer base and depth of questions make for a solid experience.
