November 22, 2021 – CMON has been teasing that their 50th Kickstarter would be their biggest yet and they just unveiled a Marvel Zombicide board game would be that campaign. “Marvel Zombies – A Zombicide Game” is going to be coming to Kickstarter Soon. It was announced via a 1-hour live stream today by the team behind it that included tons of details and a trailer which can be seen below.

The tagline for the project is “The hunger takes hold after the Marvel Universe has been turned into Zombies! Get ready for a Zombicide campaign of epic proportions.” The Kickstarter preview page is up now for you to follow for notifications.

This is based on the comic book series, a five-issue limited series published from December 2005 to April 2006 by Marvel Comics. The series was written by Robert Kirkman with art by Sean Phillips and covers by Arthur Suydam. It was the first series in the Marvel Zombies series of related stories. The story is set in an alternate universe where the world’s superhero population has been infected with a virus which turned them into zombies. The series was spun out of events of the crossover story-arc of Ultimate Fantastic Four, where the zombie Reed Richards tricked his Ultimate counterpart into opening a portal to the zombie universe only for the latter to contain the former from ever coming to his universe.

In this board game, you play as zombie-infected super heroes eating people, fighting your way through guards and trying to fulfill your plan of world domination. You will need to quench your hunger and fulfill your objectives.

“It was very fun to turn Zombicide on its head. This is a Zombicide game, it is not the original with Marvel heroes in it, it is a new game using Zombicide as the pieces of it, adapting to bring this new theme and dynamic together.” – Thiago Aranha

“All the standard Zombicide mechanics you are used to are here, but there are some changes to be done based on the setting, the tone and some reconfiguring of that nature. This is all done with the support and blessing and feedback of the original guillotine designers.” – Michael Shinall

“You still move through zones, do attack rolls, all these key elements that make Zombicide fun and what it is. We really wanted to respect this.” – Fabio Cury
