DETECTIVE CLUB OVERVIEW
Detective Club is a social deduction party game featuring beautiful, surreal artwork and intriguing player interactions! Each round, one player secretly writes a word in all but one of the other players’ notebooks.
The player who does not know the word is the Conspirator this round. All players then take turns playing cards they feel best to represent the word. When the word is revealed at the end of the round, each player explains why their cards make sense with the word. The player who didn’t know the word will have to quickly come up with an explication in order to not be detected!

DETECTIVE CLUB REVIEW
7.6 out of 10
Detective Club is a fantastic secret submit and judge / communication party game. It reaches the same fun and excitement levels of similar party game Dixit, but has enough differences to justify owning and playing both. This game looks like it could have easily fallen in the shadows of some of the other leaders in the party board game field, but it has done a great job of setting itself apart and being one of the best at what it does.

DETECTIVE CLUB HOW TO PLAY
Players take turns giving a clue that matches two artwork cards in their hand. The hook is that everyone except one person knows the clue and the goal is the figure out who that person is. Everyone puts down two art cards and at the end has to describe why they knew the clue and are not the mystery liar. The person who doesn’t know has to lie and stretch their way through so as not to be detected.

DETECTIVE CLUB FAQ
Who plays first in Detective Club?
There is no set rule, use your randomizer of choice.
What are the player colors in Detective Club?
There are 8 color options – Green, Blue, Orange, Red, Yellow, Purple, Black and White.
When giving your clue description in Detective Club are there any limits?
Not really. Even if you say “Jim’s the liar” or something blatant, everyone still has to choose to believe you.
Are there any Detective Club variants?
Yes, there are 2. One is to be topical, pick a topic at the beginning and all clues have to be within that topic. The second is a no talking variant that changes the game from a bluffing game to more of an artwork interpretation game.
Can You Use Dixit Cards in Detective Club?
Unofficially yes. In both games the idea of pulling information from abstract art is the same, it is just how you use the info that is different in the games. Everyone working off different art cards still lets you play the game in the same way.
Is Detective Club board game based on a Detective Club Book?
No, the game is a completely unique creation and as far as we are aware there is no Detective Club book.
