June 25, 2021 – Leder Games is releasing the first expansion for the hit 2020 board game Fort. Titled “Dogs & Cats”, this expansion comes in a box the size of a deck of cards, but has two explosive game modes that change up this resource management and deck building game. These can be played separately or together.
You can pre-buy the game starting in early July at Leder Games with fulfillment taking place later this summer.
You’ve begged and pleaded with your parents and finally… it’s time to get a pet! Dogs are loyal. If you play one, it will (usually) stay in your doghouse. But, neglect a dog, and it will wander off. Cats are fickle. Their actions happen at specific times, and they move around a lot. At the end of the game, score points for having the most dogs in your doghouse and for each cat in your yard.
Since we were able to get an advanced copy, we have also done a review and a how to play guide. For more details in either of those areas, check out the below links:
The same team from the original board game returns with this expansion. Grant Rodiek and Nick Brachman are behind the design with Kyle Ferrin handling artwork, which is amazing.
ABOUT FORT BASE GAME
You’re a kid! And like many kids, you want to grow your circle of friends, collect pizza and toys, and build the coolest fort. By doing this cool stuff, you’ll score victory points, and at the end of the game, the player with the most victory points wins. During your turn, you have limited actions that allow you to build up your infrastructure, gain resources and add new kids from the playground to your crew in an interesting deck building mechanic. Your cards not only let you take actions on your own turn but also let you follow the other players’ actions on their turns. For 2 – 4 players, games run around 20 – 40 minutes.
