In the Wild West, the eternal challenge between the Law and the Outlaws takes on ever more rapid pace. Suddenly, a rain of arrows darkens the sky: the Indians attack! Will you be bold enough to stand up to the Red Indians? Will you at the same time have the courage to challenge fate, to unmask and defeat the other ruthless gunslingers around you?

Bang The Dice Game keeps the core of the Bang! card game in place. At the start of the game, players each take a role card that secretly places them on a team: the Sheriff and deputies, outlaws, and renegades. The Sheriff and deputies need to kill the outlaws, the outlaws win by killing the Sheriff, and the renegades want to be the last players alive in the game.

1. SETUP | Secretly Give Out Roles
Create the deck of role cards based on the number of players. See Role Breakdown By Player Count below for exact details. You always need the sheriff and you have to keep things balanced so depending on who is playing, you take the 8 roles and take a mixture of Sheriff, Outlaws, Deputies and Renegade so there is enough for each player to have one. Shuffle these and give them out face down as a secret.

2. SETUP | Reveal Sheriff
Whoever ended up with the Sheriff card reveals it to all. Everyone else keeps their role a secret. The Sheriff takes the five six-sided icon dice and will be the starting player.

3. SETUP | Give Out Characters
Shuffle up the 16 characters and give each player one. These each have a special ability that its owner gets to use throughout the entire game. These are not a secret and are revealed to everyone.

4. SETUP | Take Bullet Life Tokens
Your individual role will show a number of bullet symbols. This is your life count, take tokens from the communal pile of bullet symbols equal to that total and put it in front of you.

5. SETUP | Give Out Summary Cards
There are reference cards that show the turn and what the dice do. This is for quick reference and one should be given to each player.

6. SETUP | Place Arrow Tokens
Put the nine arrow tokens in the middle of the play area for all to access. These will be taken and discarded throughout the game depending on the dice.

7. GAMEPLAY | Players Have Different Win Condition
Depending on your role you have a different tasks you need to complete. (1) Sheriff must eliminate all outlaws and renegades, (2) Outlaws must eliminate the Sheriff, (3) Must help and protect the Sheriff and (4) Renegade must be the last player in the game.

8. GAMEPLAY | Players Have Character Abilities
Each player gets a unique special ability to use. Each one is different and clearly defined on the card. This is active throughout the entire game and can be used as many times as appropriate.

9. GAMEPLAY | Yahtzee Roll Dice
Each of the five dice have six different symbols that all resolve differently and in a specific order. Some happen right away, while some happen when you are finished. You get three rolls. Each role you keep dice you want and reroll the dice you do no. After the third roll, you are stuck with the five dice that are turned up.

10. GAMEPLAY | Resolve Dice | Indian Arrow
You must resolve this die immediately when rolled, not at the end of your turn. Take one arrow token (one per arrow rolled) and keep it in front of you. You may roll this die again if you have re rolls left. If you take the last arrow, the Indians attack and each player loses one life point for each arrow in front of him. After the attack, all players discard their arrows, and you resume your turn.

11. GAMEPLAY | Resolve Dice | Dynamite
This die cannot be re-rolled! If you roll three or more Dynamites, your turn ends immediately and you lose one life point. But, all your other dice results are still resolved as normal.

12. GAMEPLAY | Resolve Dice | Bulls Eye “1” & “2”
Choose the player next to you on your left or right. That player loses one life point. If it is a “1” you chose someone one spot away and if it is a “2” you choose a player two spots away.

13. GAMEPLAY | Resolve Dice | Beer
Choose any player: he gains one life point. You may choose yourself. You can never have more life points than the number you had at the beginning of the game. If you choose a player with his maximum life points, this result is wasted.

14. GAMEPLAY | Resolve Dice | Gatling Gun
If you roll three or more Gatlings you activate the Gatling Gun, and each of the other players loses one life point. Also, you discard all of your arrows.

15. GAMEPLAY | Eliminating A Player
If you lose your last life point, you are out of the game. Show your role to all players and discard all your arrows. If you are eliminated, you do not act in the game anymore. But, if your team partners win, you win too.

16. GAMEPLAY | Pass And Repeat
Once you have resolved all your dice by choice or by running out of re-rolls, your turn is over. Pass the dice to the player to the left to repeat the play steps. If a player has been eliminated, they are skipped over, they do not get to participate anymore.

17. WINNING | Player or Team Meets Goal
Depending on your goal (Sheriff, Outlaw, Deputy, Renegade) you play to get to your win condition that has to do with who need to take out or help. Once a win condition is met, every player who has that role, flips over their card and announes their victory. The game is over.



3 players: see special rules, ahead;
4 players: 1 Sheriff, 1 Renegade, 2 Outlaws;
5 players: 1 Sheriff, 1 Renegade, 2 Outlaws, 1 Deputy;
6 players: 1 Sheriff, 1 Renegade, 3 Outlaws, 1 Deputy;
7 players: 1 Sheriff, 1 Renegade, 3 Outlaws, 2 Deputies;
8 players: 1 Sheriff, 2 Renegades, 3 Outlaws, 2 Deputies.


Shuffle these three roles: Deputy, Outlaw, and Renegade. Give one of them randomly to each player, but place them face up on the table. Everyone knows the role of all three players. The goal of each player is determined by his role:

  • the Deputy must eliminate the Renegade;
  • the Renegade must eliminate the Outlaw;
  • the Outlaw must eliminate the Deputy.

The game plays as usual, with the Deputy taking the first turn. You win as soon as you reach your goal if you cause your target to lose his last life point (e.g., as the Deputy you must personally eliminate the Renegade). If the other player dealt the final hit, then the goal for both survivors is to be the last man standing. For example, if the Outlaw eliminated the Renegade, then the Deputy did not win—he must now eliminate the Outlaw, who must in turn eliminate the Deputy in order to win.
