1. SETUP | Put Out Game Board

3. SETUP | Put Out Snapshot Cards
The larger cards are the “snapshot” cards which are items you can get by turning in essentials that will give you stars on your quest to win the game. Shuffle these cards in a face down deck. Place four cards face up near the board to be the initial snapshot cards. By turning in cards that equal what is shown, you get them and their stars (first to 10 stars wins).
4. SETUP | Determine Start Player
The final step of Pusheen The Cat Purrfect Pick setup before getting into gameplay is to determine the starting player. The book says the last person to feed a cat but go with your randomizer of choice. Give this player the Pusheen figure to use for their move.
5. GAMEPLAY | Choose A Paw Space
On a player’s turn they have the opportunity to take any one card from the game board. To do this they must choose any of the paw print spaces on the board that borders that card. Each space borders four cards and moving their lets you grab one. Put the Pusheen figure on the chosen paw space.
6. GAMEPLAY | Take Your Chosen Card
After you place the figure, you may now take one of the four touching cards. You may also take a random card from the top of the essentials deck if you would like. If the card is a “toy” or a “friend” then you take it into your hand. If the card is an “action” card then it triggers right away. Read the text and follow the effect.
7. GAMEPLAY | Claim Snapshot If Applicable
You may, not required, discard cards from your hand to claim one of the four showing Snapshot cards. The symbols in the top left corner of the card show what you need to claim it. Remove the essential cards and take the claimed snapshot. You can claim as many as you have cards for. When you are done, replace empty spaces with new cards from the deck until you are back up to four.
8. GAMEPLAY | Next Player Goes
Moving to the player to the left, they now complete the same steps of moving the plush, taking a card, and then choosing to claim any snapshots. Cards taken by other players remain as empty spaces because they do not get replenished until the end of round.
9. GAMEPLAY | Check If Anyone Has 10 Stars
Check if anyone has 10 total stars. If at least one player does, the game ends. If not, you continue.
10. GAMEPLAY | Refill Essential Cards
After a round has completed, and all players have taken a turn, you need to refill the taken Essential cards. Fill any blank spot on the board with new cards from the face down deck.
11. GAMEPLAY | Pass Plush & Repeat
Repeat the full rounds of players taking a turn, checking if someone won and then cleaning up for the next if needed. The player who was the first to place the Pusheen in a round, passes that to the player to the left so the same player should not be starting each round.
12. WINNING | A Player Reaches 10 Stars
If a player collects enough snapshot cards to get a total of 10 stars, they win. The check for this happens at the end of the round so if players both are able to get 10 within a round, they also will win.

There is no limit to how many cards a player can hold. If the Essentials deck runs out, shuffle the discard pile to make a new one.
