November 8, 2021 – Publisher Renegade unveils new reimagined murder mystery board game set at awards show. The third entry in their series with this general puzzle mechanic is Crimes and Capers: And the Winner is… Dead. The game is available for preorder now at the publisher’s website for a cost of $35 with an expected release date of February 23, 2021.
There are other “Crimes & Capers” games from the publisher that include High School Hijinks (2021) and Lady Leona’s Last Wishes (2021). These are all stand-alone games who central theme is generally this reimagined murder mystery type of puzzle. The series, as well as this new one, was designed by Juliana Patel & Ariel Rubin who together also designed the Escape Room in a box series.
There have been many different types of games in the murder mystery genre from Mansions of Madness to Sherlock Holmes to Chronicles of Crime to MicroMacro but this one is different. Cooperative Mystery Puzzle Game. Crimes & Capers combines the beloved classic of murder mystery parties with on-trend escape room style puzzling.

Crimes & Capers: And the Winner is… Dead! is a cooperative game where you and a group of friends will take on the roles of famous recording artists and work together to solve the mystery. No special skills or prior knowledge are required. Read social media posts and solve puzzles to unlock Mannie’s purse, then figure out who murdered her!
