March 18, 2021 – After the film and a renewed love for the franchise, there is a Sonic The Card Game in the Works from Steam Forged Games. The publisher behind the widely successful and extensive Dark Souls board game dropped some title art for the new project and almost no details. At the end of a blog post with updates on all their titles, they ended with a little flair by making their intentions known, but did little else.
It is important to note that the featured image here is of the video game Team Sonic Racing, not this new card game. The art that debuted for that is the title treatment below.
Sonic’s the name, and speed is the game—literally! Join the beloved blue blur in a competitive card racing game where you’ll collect power-ups and rings to win.
It’s fast family fun you’ll race through again and again.

If you were looking for more details than that, good luck, because this is all you get for now. Just be happy that a good publisher with some great experience is going to put this property out in the world one day, hopefully.
The original video game came out back in 1991. There have been tons of games, cartoons and other media to come out in the twenty years since.
Steam Forged has been making big moves as of late. Back in March they announced a Peaky Blinders game based on the TV show and in October announced a Pac Man card game based on one of the most popular video games of all time.
In addition to the news about the new Sonic Card Game, the blog post update from SFG also included the latest info on their titles Godtear, Epic Encounters, Animal Adventures, Horizon Zero Down and Pac Man The Card Game.
