THE CASTLES OF BURGUNDY OVERVIEW

The title is set in the Burgundy region of High Medieval France. Each player takes on the role of an aristocrat, originally controlling a small princedom. Players aim to build settlements and powerful castles, practice trade along the river, exploit silver mines, and use the knowledge of travelers.

The game is about players taking settlement tiles from the game board and placing them into their princedom which is represented by the player board. Every tile has a function that starts when the tile is placed in the princedom. The princedom itself consists of several regions, each of which demands its own type of settlement tile.

THE CASTLES OF BURGUNDY REVIEW

N/A

We have not yet reviewed this title yet but we can tell you it is one of the strategic icons for a reason. There are not many game that could seem this seamless and easy, but at the same time give you such a ridiculous amount of options that you need to have your strategy game on point in order to succeed. It is a set collection game but there is much to collect and everything intermingles with everyone else. Hats off to designer Stephen Feld for making such a layered strategy powerhouse.
