The latest entry in our series Why You Should Kickstart Mob Big Apple Board Game Kickstarter. Who doesn’t love a mafia game? Diving into this world with a worker placement mechanic base sounds like a great idea. The game launches on Kickstarter on January 25, 2021. Check out the link below to go directly to The Mob Big Apple Board Game Kickstarter page or continue on to read the interview with the creator.
1. How would you describe your product in a few sentences?
MOB: Big Apple is a 1920’s mafia themed 2 player game that takes 30 to 45 minutes to play. MOB: Big Apple has dice allocation, worker placement, and area control mechanics.
2. Introduce the team bringing this to market. What is your background that brought you to launch this?
MOB: Big apple is being brought to life by many different people, TGG-Games and its publishing team, the project lead on MOB: Big Apple is Daniel Casey, who is an advent board game player. He started the Board Gamer’s Guild of Las Vegas which has close to 800 members on Facebook. He is also a game designer himself.
The Designer behind this game is no other than Steve Finn, who’s previous games and works speak for themselves. The Artist is Ossi Hiekkala who has worked on several board games and is an extremely talented artist. The Graphic Designer is David Sookochoff who is very talented as well. He was the artist and graphic designer for our game Duffers as well as working on many other games currently in the works by TGG-Games.
3. What existing games would you compare your game to?
Since this is based on an earlier title by the same author, it is fair to compare it to Capo dei Capi. However, it is a very different game than its younger brother, as this one includes worker placement and area control.
4. What sets your game apart?
A unique blend of area control, worker placement, and dice allocation. The stellar art makes it special, as well.
5. How can everyone be assured that they are going to get quality components and you are going to deliver on all the promises you are making?
We at TGG-Games have 3 games under our brand that have already funded, been manufactured, and fulfilled. We never cut on component quality with our games which shows in all our other games. We have self fulfilled 3 games ourselves so we have a very strong grasp and understanding of shipping and the best methods to do that. We also have a very good working relationship with our manufacturer Whatz Games.
6. Why should someone back your project?
If you’re in the market for a clever 2-player experience that will leave you wanting to play again once finished, MOB: Big Apple is what you’re looking for.
